It has been statistically and scientifically proven that youth who participate in some form of arts program do better overall, academically and socially. From personal experience with working with thousands of youth they all agree that having a positive outlet like dance, music, art etc has been a safe haven or healthy coping mechanism, especially for those who come from a hard background. I've also witnessed the power of arts breaking down walls as I toured with a performing arts group for two years. We talked about hard topics like domestic violence, drug addiction, broken homes etc all through the platform of performing arts and I watched tens of thousands of youth receive our message that may have not been other wise. The arts break down barriers!! And yet, they are the first programs to get cut in budgets within school education systems.....
The heart behind Elevate The Arts Benefit Showcase was to raise awareness about the importance of art programs and raise funds so that here at Elevate International, we can continue to reach and empower this next generation through the arts! We had an amazing night filled with empowering and thought-provoking performances as well as some testimonies of youth and young adults who have participated in our programs.
We were blessed to have Natasha Castles from 101.5 Live Phoenix radio and a prestigious panel of artist like Nuvia Magdahi, Iroc Daniels, Niamey Thomas, Miz V, and Kim "Koko" Hunter.
Our special guest artist included: Mariah Parham, Westwood High School Dance Company, Marcus Jones, Ivory Myers, Karla Marquez, Yalissa Williams, Courtney Vogel choreography, Toure Masters, United Dance Company
We also had special donations of art pieces and services from: Larry Valenzuela, Antoinette Cauley, Triune Salon, Mon Cheri Salon, and the Phoenix Suns.
We are so grateful for everyone who helped put this together and those of you who showed up to support! We will have the full video coming soon! We also still have some items left to raffle and auction so stay tuned on how to get some of these amazing items like a Devin Booker signed basketball or $150 value hair cut from Triune Salon!
