Continue to pray for Puerto Rico (and the Caribbean) and how you can help. While Maria has passed, this is just the beginning of what Puerto Rico will be going through! It will take all of us coming together to help rebuild. There is no "them", it's "us" and "we" are all in this together! As an organization, we have sent teams to Puerto Rico and Haiti for years to host youth and young adult camps. We believe in and love the island of PR and Haiti!. Hip Hop Internationals better known as HHI is a world wide dance competition that took place in Phoenix earlier this month. Over 40 countries from all over the world competed in multiple divisions to earn a shot at representing their country through dance. Our Urban Missionary Kiersten Willis spent all week rubbing elbows with dancers all across the globe as well as took our @adc_eint dancers to witness USA finals. Through the help of our donors, Elevate was able to also sponsor two of our dancers to train at one of their Urban Moves workshops where they were pushed to new levels and able to dance with some of the best dancers in the world.

"I attended one of the cyphers (freestyle dance session) and there were so many different languages being spoken and even though we couldn't understand each other verbally, we all spoke the universal language of dance, and that was a perfect example of God's beautiful gift of arts"---Kiersten Willis

This past weekend our Urban Missionary Kiersten Willis taught at a national dance convention called Choreography Pro's Jr Convention. Thanks to donors specifically towards our Creative Arts Department and Urban Missionary, Elevate International was able to send three of our teen dancers from our dance crew Anomalous to attend this convention. Our teen dancers spent two days learning from choreographers who have worked nationally with the NFL, NBA, AFL, and more. They learned various styles such as Jazz, Hip-Hop and Pom. Conventions are not easy, designed for dancers to train at intense levels, exposing them to challenging material and giving them the opportunity to train under teachers they may not have access to otherwise. In addition they also are able to meet other dancers from across the country. We are proud of Nate, Mali, and Isis for pushing through!

Antioch Discipleship and Arts was one of the programs launched during the 2016/2017 year under our new Creative Arts Department developed by our first urban missionary Kiersten Tanara Willis. This program was designed for artists ages 17-35 years old to understand what it means to become a disciple of Christ through deeper study of the Word of God and pushing in artistic cultivation. The mission and vision of this program is to "create artistic disciples that create artistic disciples" and we are so honored that the first group of students have captured the heart of this program and will be multiplying the kingdom. Here is a recap video of the students expectations prior to starting the program and their outlook after finishing the program. We look forward to continuing this program and are so thankful for the donors who have made this possible.
